Conditions Treated

We treat all common psychiatric complaints, with a focus on these areas:

  • Overcoming addiction requires courage and comprehensive support. We provide medication-assisted therapy like suboxone and naltrexone, relapse prevention strategies, and an outpatient detox program for all substance use disorders. Our approach also focuses on finding and reinforcing your personal reasons for quitting, which is crucial for sustained recovery.

  • Our approach includes personalized counseling and medication management to effectively address and alleviate the symptoms of depression.

For those whose depression has not responded to standard treatments, we explore all available options. This includes older, stronger antidepressants like TCAs and MAOIs, alternative adjunct therapies, as well as providing guidance on innovative treatments such as ketamine therapy, electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). For appropriate patients we can also help you enroll in clinical trials for drugs still in development.

  • We work to understand the root of your anxiety, providing goal-oriented therapy through cognitive restructuring to manage and reduce symptoms.

  • Obsessive compulsive disorder responds well to both the right medication and specific types of therapy. There are a large number of pharmacologic options for OCD, and together we will find the right medication that helps relieve your symptoms the most while minimizing undesirable side effects. We can also explore the latest options that are currently being researched for OCD treatment.

OCD also responds well to specific types of therapy - exposure-response prevention (ERP) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). We can work on this together, or I can refer you to outside providers with extensive experience treating OCD through therapy.

  • We offer evaluations for adult ADHD, and for diagnosed patients, tailored treatment plans that may include medication, behavioral strategies, and lifestyle changes to improve concentration, organization, your ability to carry through, and manage the emotional consequences of ADHD.

  • Our trauma-informed approach focuses on helping you overcome your experiences by resetting the neurological pathways that are causing you distress.

  • Good sleep is crucial for good health. We work to understand the nature of your insomnia, and can guide you through a medical workup to understand biological reasons why you might be suffering from insomnia. We can provide cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBTi), and if necessary can help you find an appropriate sleep aid.

  • Bipolar disorder is one of the most frequently misdiagnosed and mismanaged psychiatric illnesses. We offer second opinions if you’re unsure of your diagnosis, and if confirmed focus on stabilizing mood swings through a combination of medication, psychotherapy, and lifestyle adjustments.

  • For high-functioning individuals with schizophrenia, our approach focuses on maintaining stability and enhancing quality of life by mitigating the side effects of antipsychotics.

For families, particularly those seeking the best care for their loved ones, we offer extensive support services. Our approach helps manage symptoms effectively, support social and vocational skills, and integrate successfully into daily life. We empower patients and their families with the knowledge and tools necessary to manage the illness effectively, from the legal aspects of care to the day-to-day challenges.

  • Psychiatric illness is a common consequence of dealing with cancer or other medical issues, often manifesting as depression, anxiety, sleep disturbance, or conditions mimicking schizophrenia or mania. We ensure your psychiatric treatment takes your medical issues and other medications into account to ensure better outcomes and minimize potentially harmful interactions. We also focus on addressing the psychological challenge of health issues, providing the support you need to enhance your quality of life.
